Position Overview:
The Accounting Manager/Controller leads the accounting function, creates a system of financial controls and procedures, and owns all accounting data and systems at Namaste Solar. A successful candidate will be skillful in balancing the need for accounting controls and GAAP financials with the operational need of real-time, actionable data. Reports to the CFO.
Essential Functions:
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare, review, and present accurate financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Month-End Close: Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Develop repeatable methodologies for allocation of expenses across revenue centers
- Budgeting: Collaborate with department heads to create insightful budgetary transaction date.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable Management: Oversee the AR/AP process, ensuring timely payments, invoicing, and reconciliation.
- Audits: Ensure compliance with tax regulations, audits, and internal controls. Work with external auditor on deliverables.
- Cost Accounting: Manage cost accounting processes related to residential and commercial solar projects, tracking project expenses, and ensuring financial accuracy.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support in day-to-day tasks. Develop quarterly goals and hold team accountable
- ERP Systems: Oversee accounting software (Sage Intacct) and Namaste Solar business systems to streamline operations, ensuring system efficiencies and accuracy.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial operations and implement best practices for accounting procedures.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting plus a minimum of eight years processing a variety of corporate accounting transactions (AR, AP, GL).
- Two years of experience building, developing, and inspiring a high-performing professional accounting team.
- Solar or construction accounting experience with job costing/WIP accounting a plus.
- Strong accounting systems experience (Sage Intacct experience a plus).
- Experience running on EOS a plus
- Self-starter, results-oriented, has a positive attitude and drives to learn.
