ECU Health Hematology – Oncology is located within ECU Health Multispecialty Clinic – Kinston, where doctors, nurses, nurse practitioners and physician assistants with years of experience caring for the community, work together to offer convenient, patient-centered care.

Kinston is only 30 miles south of Greenville, NC, 60 miles west of spectacular Crystal Coast beaches, and 80 miles southeast of Raleigh, NC.

Position Summary

The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) prepares patient specimens as required for laboratory testing.

As a MLT, you will:

Perform laboratory test and monitor test results to assure test quality and validityCommunicate results in a timely manner, especially those that may be life threatening to the patientMaintain properly documented records of activitiesClean and maintain laboratory equipment and environmentPerform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

High School plus 2 years or more of formal training or education (Specify: Medical Laboratory Technician)ASCP or equivalent certification desirableLess than 1 year of experience is required
