We're expanding our client's team and seeking experienced electricians ready to bring their expertise and leadership to challenging offshore and site-based projects.
About the Role
As a Site/Vessel Electrician, you will be essential to delivering complex electrical solutions both in our workshop and at client sites, including offshore vessels. This role offers diverse responsibilities and the chance to work on unique projects across different environments.
Key responsibilities include:
– Offshore and Site Supervision: Overseeing personnel on client vessels and sites, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety policies, and maintaining rigorous safety standards.
– Hands-On Electrical Work: Installing, repairing, and commissioning electrical systems on board vessels and at industrial sites, including marine switchboards, control panels, and variable speed drives.
– Testing and Documentation: Conducting final equipment testing, updating drawings in AutoCAD and EPlan, and ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
– Project Coordination: Ordering materials, assisting with site surveys, and providing cost estimates to support efficient project planning and execution.
– Safety and Compliance: Producing job-specific Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), managing site permits, and carrying out comprehensive on-site POWRA checks.
– Client Relations: Acting as an ambassador for the company, building strong, professional relationships with clients and addressing project requirements effectively.
– Housekeeping & PPE Management: Maintaining high standards of cleanliness on-site, verifying time sheets, and ensuring proper use of PPE.
What You'll Need to Succeed
– Offshore Experience: Prior experience working on vessels or marine installations is highly desirable.
– Electrical Supervision: Proven supervisory experience in industrial or marine environments.
– Technical Skills: Ability to interpret and work from electrical schematic drawings and other technical documentation.
– Independent and Adaptable: Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing project demands.
– Full UK Driving License: Ability to drive company vehicles as needed.
– Flexible Availability: Willing to work varied hours, including occasional weekend work and overtime when required.
– Location Requirement: This role is for UK-based applicants only, and sponsorship is not offered.
Qualifications
– Minimum: Completed apprenticeship with City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent qualifications in electrical engineering.
