Accountant – Global Distribution – Matamoras, PA

Job Description

The Accountant will be a leader in creating, analyzing and reporting the accounting and finance process for the distribution firm. The Accountant will oversee & lead everything from the daily reporting procedures/protocols to monthly/quarterly presentations. This role is a part of a larger team, and has clear growth/promotional path.

Our client is a growing manufacturing firm in the Matamoras, PA area with multiple locations throughout the eastern seaboard and globally. The distribution firm is a leader in their space, and has seen tremendous growth over the past few years. The distribution firm has served the Matamoras, PA area and beyond for decades, and due to the growth and space that they are in look to increase their market share dramatically over the next few quarters.

Description

• Assist in the coordination of monthly close tasks
• Assist in the coordination, tracking, and completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual SOX tasks
• Perform and assist with our day to day operational accounting and monthly close process
• Prepare complex entries
• Prepare and review monthly internal reports to leadership
• Think critically and maintain an inquisitive mindset to recommend, implement, and document process improvements to promote efficiency and SOX compliance
• Lead inventory cycle count process & and identify any variances

Profile

• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Previous work with manufacturing firms or plant environment
• CPA preferred
• Public Accounting experience a plus
• Audit experience a plus
• Ability to work independently effectively
