Position: Mechanical Engineering Co-op

Primary Location: Cairo, OH

Schedule: On-site, full time

Reports To: Reliability Manager

Compensation: $22-29 per hour

The range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position.   Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   

 

You must be currently enrolled in a chemical or mechanical engineering program to be eligible for this position.

If you are able to start this semester, we can start you asap. Otherwise, your spring start date can be determined based on your school schedule.

About This Role and About You

 

This position is directly involved in assisting the central engineering resource team. It is located at the Cairo plant and will report to the Senior Reliability Engineer. The primary focus of the co-op student will be reliability improvements with an emphasis on safety, documentation, and mechanical integrity program development.

 

Responsibilities:

 

-Understanding, upholding, demonstrating and improving the Chemtrade safety culture

– Prepare critical equipment lists for various plant sites

– Develop critical spare parts list for various sites

– Assist with Failure Modes and Effects Analysis

– Prepare Mechanical Integrity Program documentation and assist in program implementation

– Assist in plant turnaround preparation

– Develop vessel inspection schedules and plans with sites and compliant with regulatory requirements

-Provides technical information to the engineering, operations and maintenance functions as requested.

-Assisting in initiating plant investigations related to proposed changes in the plant process.

-Inputting and re-organizing information with regards to CMMS and the plant equipment files

-Any other duties as assigned that are deemed to pose a minimum risk

 

Qualifications:

 

Education:  2nd/ 3rd Year Mechanical Engineering Student

Minimum GPA: 3.0 / 4.0 

Duration: 4, 8 or 12 month terms available. Priority will be given to students available for longer terms.

Technical Skills:  Knowledgeable in Mechanical Engineering principles.

Proficient with MS Office software

Good organization and communication skills.
