NetSuite & Accounting Specialist

Job Description

We seek a highly skilled and detail-oriented NetSuite and Accounting Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, combined with extensive experience in managing and optimizing NetSuite ERP systems. This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing bookkeeping tasks, and ensuring the efficient operation of our NetSuite platform to support the organization’s financial activities.

NetSuite Administration:

• Manage and maintain the NetSuite ERP system, ensuring data integrity and system optimization.
• Customize NetSuite configurations to meet the company’s business needs.
• Provide training and support to end-users, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
• Develop and implement workflows, saved searches, reports, and dashboards.
• Collaborate with IT and other departments to integrate NetSuite with other business systems.
• Stay up-to-date with NetSuite updates and features, recommending improvements as necessary.
• Familiar with Order-to-Cash/ Sales Order and Purchase Order Processing.
• Vendor/Customer Management & Item Management.
• Familiar with SuiteBilling.

Bookkeeping and Accounting:

• Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and reconciliations.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
• Monitor cash flow and prepare bank reconciliations.
• Sales tax preparation and filing in each registered state; monitor nexus and set up registrations if applicable
• Assist with corporate tax preparation and filing, as needed.
• Manage and set up a consistent process for Collections/Dunning procedures (must be comfortable making calls to customers who pay late).

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

• Generate financial reports using NetSuite and analyze financial data to support decision-making.
• Identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement in financial performance.
• Provide insights and recommendations to management based on financial analysis.

Compliance and Audit Support:

• Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
• Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.

Qualifications:

Education:

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a similar role.
• At least 2 years of experience working with NetSuite ERP system (Required).

Skills:

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in NetSuite, with the ability to customize and optimize the platform.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

• NetSuite certification(s) such as SuiteFoundation, ERP Consultant, or Administrator.
• Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Familiarity with other accounting software and tools.
• CPA or other relevant certifications.
