What we are looking for:

n

We are seeking a Part-Time Accounting Clerk to provide support services to staff and internal clients. The position entails the application principles of accounting to analyze financial data and prepare and process all accounts payable, complete some financial reports. Some of the tasks include the following:

n

Handles system data inputs and proofing of results for varied systems, Prologue, DNA, etc.

n

Accounts Payable review of invoices and retrieval of support, approvals, signatures, and payment of vendors. This includes any collections related billings, such as attorney bills, OREO bills and expenses, as well as the journal entries that are associated with payments.

If you are good at multi-tasking, detail oriented and like to help people, we want you on our team. Join the First Atlantic team as an Accounting Clerk, in-office, providing accounting services in the finance department of the credit union. The part-time position is located in our Eatontown Headquarters, where all of the action happens!

Essential Responsibilities

n

n
• Open and distribute daily work, file accounts payable

n

n

n
• Compiles and sorts documents, such as invoices and checks, substantiating business transactions

n

n

n
• Prepares AP Vouchers, checks, reports, and reimbursement expense vouchers and reviews for accuracy

n

n

n
• Assist in the identification and analysis of significant fluctuations in asses and liability account balances. Report findings to Accounting Specialist Supervisor for follow-up action

n

n
• Process accounts payable for all vendors and corporate VISA cardholders. Review invoices for proper authorization and general ledger account classifications

n

n

n
• General Ledger reconciliations

n

n

n
• Maintain Prepaids, Fixed Assets, and Accruals

n

n

n
• Post journal entries

n

n

n
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

n

n
• Experience with Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and computer systems

n

• Proficiency in MS Excel

n

• Minimum 1 year experience

n

• Detail oriented and organized

n

• Excellent communication skills

n

n

Education:

n

n
• Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year or technical school

n

n
