Senior Project Manager (Engineering)

JOB SUMMARY:

East West’s NPI Engineering group is a key driver of growth, collaborating closely with customers, manufacturing facilities, and third-party suppliers to usher new products into production. Leveraging their collective engineering expertise, customer focus, and strong communication skills, the NPI team navigates development challenges to ensure successful project outcomes. The Project Manager II plays a pivotal role in this dynamic environment, balancing people management responsibilities with project leadership. This role oversees project schedules, engineering details, and process standards to ensure seamless project execution. Reporting to the Director of New Product Introduction, the Senior Project Manager leads a team of Project Managers, ensuring the Engineering team exceeds customer and internal stakeholder expectations.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide technical and professional guidance to the team.
• Lead the Project Management team in tracking and organizing project schedules and engineering details.
• Lead the development, documentation, implementation, and control of NPI processes.
• Administer the department’s Project Management System.
• Build and foster relationships with internal partners and key stakeholders.
• Personally manage high-value/risk programs to ensure on-time delivery and production launch.

• Contribute to proactive process improvement initiatives.
• Lead cross-functional teams by providing project plan strategies.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Material Science preferred.
• PMP certification strongly preferred.
• 7+ years experience managing engineering/manufacturing projects.
• 2+ years experience directing the work of others.
• History of successful partnerships with partners overseas, preferably in Vietnam and China.
• Proficient with Microsoft Project and Office suite; Experience with SmartSheet preferred.
